Jary’s has been operating since 1899 and has been on Northgate Street for the past 90 years having moved from the original site on Rampart Road.
Susan is the recently retired Managing Director, having taken the helm following her father’s retirement in 1986. Susan keeps abreast of everything going on at Jary’s and still works closely with all her management team to ensure the company is delivering its aim: To be the most respected name in the funeral profession, and offer a service to all families which exceeds their expectations.
Sean, the Company Director, and Martyn are the Funeral Directors. They arrange and direct funerals, and Sean holds the Diploma in Funeral Directing, as awarded by the National Association of Funeral Directors, and Martyn is currently studying for his Certificate in Funeral Practice, as awarded by SAIF. They are very ably assisted by Simon, Steve and Eddie, our funeral conductors, and our professional team of chauffeur bearers.
Melanie is the Office Manager for all our branches, and oversees the high standard of funeral arrangements being made are carried out to the smallest detail. Mel has many years of experience with us, initially joining us as a funeral arranger at our busy Gorleston office. During that time, Mel took on the responsibility for training the new members of staff who joined the business and is still actively involved in the initial and continual training of all our office staff.
Mel is assisted by our two administrators, Sarah and Lauren. Both ladies oversee the care of our cremated remains and our pre-paid funeral plan administration respectively, and are always on hand to assist with any questions or support that may be needed.
Chris is our other Director, and is also Company Secretary. Kay ably assists him, and between them they handle all the day-to-day accounting.
The head office also contains our busy memorial department and its showroom. Appointments can be made to see the stonemason, or with either Tracy and Vicki, who are on hand to help with any initial enquiries or sales, and will guide you through the application and installation process.
